A table lists books with details like title, condition, upload date, price, and sale info in Chinese. Some entries marked as "已成交."

Map of Taipei City's Wenshan District showing recycling bin locations with numbered green circles. Side panel lists addresses in Chinese.

# Moving Back Home: What to Do with All the Clothes and Books?

Before moving back to your home country, it's inevitable to go through a period of organizing and decluttering. Although everyone has different preferences, two common items that people often want to get rid of but don't know how to handle are books and clothes.

Besides giving them away to friends and family or simply throwing them out, what else can we do?

### 1. Physical Books:

**Option 1: Sell Used Books via TAZZE**

[TAZZE - Sell Used Books](https://www.taaze.tw/sell_used_books.html)

1. Gather your clean books.

2. Enter the book information (ISBN, title, and your chosen sale price) on TAZZE’s website.

3. Send the books to TAZZE’s receiving address through a convenience store.

4. Wait for the books to sell, and the earnings will be credited to your TAZZE account.

5. You can use the money in your TAZZE account to buy other books you want to read (or withdraw the money to your bank account in Taiwan).

You may feel that this process takes time and effort, but I usually collect books I no longer read in one place and then send them out once I've gathered amount.

When I want to buy a book and there’s no e-book version available, I’ll check TAZZE to see if I can use the earnings from previous sales to purchase the book I want. If you just throw the books away, you get nothing. By taking a few extra steps, you can save money for future book purchases. That’s how I see it. 🙂

Here are some books I've sold before:

The money might seem small, XD but I bought quite a few textbooks using the money from selling these books. :)

### 2. Clothes

**Option 1: Donate Clothes to a Recycling Bin**

You can donate your clothes to those in need by dropping them off at a clothing recycling bin. You can use this website to find where recycling bins are located:

[Recycling Bin Map](https://recycle.moenv.gov.tw/utmap/MapView)

For example, if you want to find a recycling bin near Wenshan District in Taipei City, select “Taipei City,” “Wenshan District,” “Clothing Recycling Bin,” and “Clothing” to see the locations of recycling bins on the map. You can also find the addresses of the bins on the side.

**Option 2: Sell to 2nd STREET**

[2nd STREET Store Locator](https://2ndstreet.com.tw/shop/)

1. Organize your clothes and pack them up.

2. Bring your ID (Alien Resident Certificate, ARC) and take the clothes to the nearest store.

3. Hand over the clothes to the staff and wait for them to inspect and appraise them.

4. Receive a receipt and cash.

"Many things that are easy for locals can be quite challenging for foreigners who may not even know what keywords to search for." This sentiment is likely shared by everyone living abroad.

I hope this article provides some clues for those living in Taiwan and wish you the best in your time here!
